Happy V-DAY to me!

Happy v-day to meeeeeee (us)! Tomorrow will be our viability day (v-day). aaaand what is that you say? Read here .

The jist of it is this : 24 weeks of gestation is used as a cut off point for hospitals for when doctors will use intensive medical intervention to attempt to save the life of a baby born prematurely. My chances now only increase week by week. Take a look at this chart :

Odds of a Premature Baby's Survival by Length of Pregnancy

Length of Pregnancy Likelihood of Survival
23 weeks 17%
24 weeks 39%
25 weeks 50%
26 weeks 80%
27 weeks 90%
28-31 weeks 90-95%
32-33 weeks 95%
34+ weeks Almost as likely as a full-term baby

Now here is a disclaimer. I don't want my baby born @ 24 weeks. Delivering premature is a scary thought. However, considering our past miscarriages - this is a huuuuuuuuge milestone for us. This is just another way to be thankful during our pregnancy as it progresses.

The picture above is her @17 weeks folks. Yes, she is wearing a tiara (lol). I thought it was fitting for the celebration.
